Introduced in 1972. It is named after the Cascade Range, mountains that run from northern California all the way north to BC, Canada. Arguably one of the most famous hops, the hop that started it all! It almost single-handedly defined the American Pale Ale style. It is bursting with zesty grapefruit flavor and aroma. It has a pleasant and balanced bitterness. It is ideally used in late hop additions to maximize that bright flavor and aroma. The bright citrus is backed by some floral and spice.
